Animal Control

The City of Gilbert contracts with Mesabi Humane Society. All pets are required to be licensed by the City of Gilbert. To license your pet with the City of Gilbert you must present current proof of rabies.  Pet Owners are subject to a fine. Licenses are available at City Hall and are required to be renewed yearly at the beginning of each year.

The cost is $10.00 or $5.00 if the animal is spayed or neutered.

In accordance with City Code, Section 10.03:

  • Sec 02 Run at Large.
  • Sec. 09 Unlicensed Animal.
  • Sec. 15 Barking Dog.
